How to Make Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

Making Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake is simple and quick. With just a few steps, you’ll have a delicious, flavorful meal ready to go.

Step-by-Step Guide to Making Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This temperature is ideal for baking chicken, ensuring it stays juicy while achieving a nice golden crust.

2. Prepare the Coating:

In a shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined. The breadcrumbs add a crispy texture, while the Parmesan adds richness and flavor.

3. Season the Chicken:

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over each chicken breast, ensuring they’re lightly coated. This will help the breadcrumb mixture stick and also add a little extra crispness when baked.

4. Coat the Chicken:

Dip each chicken breast into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks. Make sure the chicken is fully coated on all sides.

5. Bake the Chicken:

Place the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish or on a rimmed baking sheet. If you have extra breadcrumb mixture, you can sprinkle it over the top of the chicken for added crunch. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.

6. Garnish and Serve:

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Serving Suggestions for Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

This Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake is versatile and pairs wonderfully with a variety of sides. Here are some options to complement the meal:

What to Serve with Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

Roasted Vegetables: Roasted broccoli, green beans, or carrots would complement the flavors of the chicken perfectly. The savory, garlic-infused chicken pairs well with the crisp, tender veggies.
Mashed Potatoes: Creamy mashed potatoes are a classic pairing with chicken, offering a comforting side to balance the crispy chicken.
Pasta: Serve the chicken over a bed of spaghetti or fettuccine with a simple garlic butter sauce for a complete Italian-inspired meal.
Salad: A fresh green salad with a light vinaigrette will help balance out the richness of the chicken and add a refreshing element to the meal.

Wine Pairing for Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

Pair this savory chicken with a glass of Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio. These wines have enough acidity to balance the richness of the Parmesan while complementing the garlic flavor. If you prefer red wine, a light Pinot Noir works well with the flavors of the dish.

Tips for Perfect Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake

Use Fresh Parmesan: Freshly grated Parmesan cheese will provide a richer, more flavorful coating than pre-grated cheese. It helps create a better crust and enhances the flavor.
Avoid Overcooking: Be sure to check the chicken with a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Once it reaches 165°F (74°C), it’s done. Overcooking can result in dry chicken.
Add Extra Garlic: If you’re a garlic lover, feel free to add extra minced garlic to the breadcrumb mixture or even drizzle some garlic butter over the chicken after it’s baked.
Use Panko for Extra Crunch: If you want an even crispier texture, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs. Panko provides a light, airy crunch that’s perfect for this dish.
