How to Make Rose Pizza Rolls
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- If using puff pastry, remove it from the fridge 15 minutes before rolling.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide).
Step 2: Spread the Sauce & Cheese
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan over the sauce.
Step 3: Arrange the Pepperoni
- Lay the pepperoni slices in a row along one long edge of the dough, slightly overlapping them so half of each slice sticks out past the edge.
Step 4: Fold & Cut the Strips
- Fold the bottom half of the dough over the pepperoni slices so they are half-covered.
- Cut the dough into 1.5-inch-wide strips.
Step 5: Roll into Roses
- Take one strip and gently roll it up into a spiral to create a rose shape.
- Place each rolled pizza rose into a greased muffin tin.
Step 6: Egg Wash & Bake
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden, crispy crust.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Step 7: Garnish & Serve
- Let the pizza roses cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the muffin tin.
- Garnish with fresh basil and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
